Born on 14th June 1987, Amie grew up with her family in Newcastle upon Tyne.


Her father’s half Cypriot roots are clearly visible in Amie’s striking looks and dark features. It is this distinctive image that makes Amie so appealing to magazines and brands alike and it is her commercial yet individual look that secured a successful deal modelling for ‘Mac’. As well as this she secured a finalist spot in the Miss Newcastle competition. However Amie’s talents lie far deeper than her looks, with her exceptional voice which is beginning to become nationally recognised with industry professionals.

 
At school Amie entered a singing competition in the performing arts department, where the prestigious prize was a trip to Abbey Road studios to record with the then popular group ‘S Club 7’. Amie went on to win the competition, and it was this experience that reaffirmed in her mind that a singing career was what she wanted to pursue.


Understanding how competitive and ruthless the music industry is, Amie needed a separate career in order to give her an income. This is where she showed her entrepreneurial skills by firstly training to be a fully qualified personal trainer before setting up her own personal training business at the tender age of just 19. She quickly built a loyal client base of high profile sports stars.


 

Amie’s burning desire for a career in singing remained however, resulting on her taking some time out alongside her personal business to get into the recording studio to experiment with different sounds and to gain more self confidence.
This time proved invaluable to Amie, spurring her on to enter X Factor where she went on to reach the boot camp stage. After nerves initially got the better of her in the auditions, Cheryl Cole joined her on stage for moral support and this proved to be a memorable experience for young Amie. She said of the experience, “Cheryl gave me the inspiration to follow my dream”.


After gaining a glowing endorsement from Cheryl herself when she said of Amie, “She’s definitely a little pop star”, it has given Amie that push she needed to now follow her dream in earnest.
