Lucy Clarkson
Born in 1982, Lucy grew up in Rotherham with her sister Gemma and parents. Lucy was destined for fame and success from a young age, with her sister and mother having had successful careers in modelling, her auntie being a singer and her grandmother who enjoyed a career as a professional dancer in Paris.
Lucy’s first break came in 1998 when she was a top 3 finalist of “Elite Premier Colgate Platinum” competition. The winner was selected from entrants of the Daily Mirror’s competition to be a top twelve finalist out of 60,000 hopefuls. The competition ran for 4 weeks.
Lucy was spotted by one of the judges, (Vivienne Westwood) who awarded Lucy with a contract to model for her worldwide catwalk shows, commencing with London fashion week that year. Largely as a result of this increased exposure, Lucy graced the cover of More magazine no less than 7 times between 1998 and 2000.
Between 1999 and 2003, Lucy was modeling high end fashion at Paris, Milan and London fashion weeks as well as editorials Marie Claire, Chanel, Red magazine, DS magazine, and main fashion spreads for More, Just 17 and Bliss. Some of Lucy’s most notable brands that she has modeled for include Jasper Conran, La Perla, Iceberg, Issey Miyake, Pretty Polly, Veet and Diesel. Lucy has also been the feature in worldwide advertising campaigns for Panache lingerie, De Beers, Kronenburg 1664, C&A and Lynx.
Arguably the most unique job of her career to date came in 1999 where she was given a 3 year contract by computer giants Eidos to be the official face and body of Lara Croft (Tomb Raider). This saw her travelling throughout the world, resulting in a rapidly growing fan base for her stunning features and infectious personality.
In 2002, Lucy was voted Loaded Magazine’s sexiest celebrity out of 100. She also became the face of Loaded as a result of winning this poll, while rapidly becoming known as one of the top lingerie and swimwear models in London thanks to her numerous prolific campaigns for Debenhams, Marks & Spencer, La Senza, Sports Illustrated and BHS among others. Most recently, she can be seen as the face of Satin White and Pearl Drops.
Lucy has now begun to branch into television work with commercials for Wrigley’s Airwaves (2001), Blockbuster Video (2000), Kinder Chocolate (2003) and Carmen Girls (2005), Pure Satin (2005), Satin White and Pearl Drops (2009). She has also appeared on various BBC programmes such as “Jess My New Face” and “My Life as an Animal” and BBC News 24 as an official spokesman for fashion issues.
